Books like Indian killer by Sherman Alexie

The novel follows a series of murders in Seattle carried out by a killer who targets white men, thereby inflaming tensions between the city’s Native American residents and the broader community. The Indian Killer’s activity forces a crisis of identity among the local Indigenous population, as they confront a surge of hate crimes and violence. At the core of the story is John Smith, a Native American adopted as an infant by a white family, who becomes increasingly dissatisfied with his life and begins to dream of a different existence on a reservation. As he searches for connection, he meets Marie, a young university student who feels isolated from her tribe despite her education. The narrative also follows ex-cop Jack Wilson, who now writes mystery novels and claims an Indian heritage to gain acceptance. Determined to capture the brutal killings in his next book, Jack believes his work could reveal the authentic experience of being Indian. The escalating murders, community conflict, and individual struggles culminate in a tense and unexpected climax.
