Books like Time for bed, Elmo! by Sarah Willson

Elmo’s bedtime routine becomes a frantic race against time as his babysitter, Mara, reminds him that it is nearly evening. In an effort to avoid sleeping, Elmo checks under the bed for monsters, quietly pets the cat, and tugs at the world’s gentle distractions. The story unfolds in a rhythmically playful tone, guiding children through common bedtime anxieties while offering humor and comfort. As the night deepens, Elmo’s antics reveal that facing the unknown—whether a monster or a looming bedtime—can be both thrilling and reassuring. The book’s rhyming structure encourages rhythm and memory, making bedtime a shared moment of fun and calm. Together, Elmo and Mara navigate the thin line between adventure and routine, helping young readers recognize that nighttime can be a friendly, reliable friend. *Shortly titled “Time for Bed, Elmo!”, the book ends with a calm resolution that supports a peaceful night’s sleep while celebrating the imaginative ways children can talk about their fears and hopes.*
