Books like A Promise Given by Samantha James

Ian MacGregor, the proud head of a Highland clan, returns to his ancestral lands after many years away, intent on marrying Margaret Kincaid—his childhood betrothed of lowland origin. At the same time, the wild‑spirited and hauntingly beautiful Sabrina Kincaid, Margaret’s sister and Margaret’s closest confidante, captures Ian’s attention. When Margaret mysteriously vanishes, Ian steps forward to marry Sabrina on her sister’s behalf, invoking long‑held promises and clan obligations. Sabrina, bound by duty to honor her father’s wish, reluctantly agrees, yet she remains wary of the rumors surrounding Ian’s dark past and the whispers linking him to Margaret’s disappearance. Despite her doubts, Sabrina’s sensuous soul compels her to trust Ian’s tender and noble nature, believing that their shared passion may lead to freedom and love that transcends the dangers that lie ahead.
