Books like Wrinkles by Roca, Paco (Comic book artist)

Ernest’s entry into a nursing home marks the start of a quiet struggle against the debilitating effects of Alzheimer’s disease. The shared spaces, lined with the faded histories of fellow residents, initially overwhelm him, making community life feel like an ordeal. As the graphic narrative unfolds, Ernest gradually adapts, finding strength in the relationships he builds and the small victories against the erosion of his memories. His journey is depicted through striking visuals that capture the layered complexity of aging and dementia. While the disease threatens to erase his past page by page, the story emphasizes that even as memories fade, the deepest emotions endure—preserved as hidden treasures beneath the surface of each fragment of his life. The comic ultimately invites readers to reflect on the resilience inherent in the human spirit and the value of each remaining memory.
