A Norwegian fiction by Tarjei Vesaas.

Fleeing her unseen pursuers, a woman appeared from the darkness-a lady of turquoise eyes and silvery blond hair who captivated dangerous, enigmatic Piers Larraby. But who was this gorgeous gamine on the run, and why did she fire his blood as no woman ever had? Stunned by a shocking sensual hunger, Damiene Belson wondered if she dared trust this mysterious man who scorched her lips with irresistible need, branded her body with terrifying sweetness--and promised to guard her from those who threatened her life. Overwhelmed by a flood of passion, Damiene begged Piers to accept the secrets between them, but tragic memories threatened to destroy the sanctum of pleasure he'd woven for his unexpected love. Piers was the dashing pirate who'd abducted her heart as his treasure, and Damiene the exquisite Venus whose haunting beauty shimmered in a sky lit by flames. But when dawn came, would demons from the past cost them forever?
