Books like Blue screen by Robert B. Parker

In the wake of a film executive’s rise to power, Sunny Randall is hired by C‑list movie mogul Buddy Bollen to keep his rising star, Erin Flint, on track—and safe. When Erin’s sister Misty is found dead in their opulent shared home, the case falls under the jurisdiction of Jesse Stone, chief of police in Paradise, Massachusetts. As Sunny and Jesse collaborate, they uncover a tangle of movie deals, mob interests, and personal betrayals that threaten both their lives. Bollen's empire of questionable films and hidden alliances makes every lead suspect, and the lines between ally and enemy blur. In this high‑stakes mystery, the pursuit of truth forces Sunny to confront both the dark side of Hollywood and her own sense of justice, while Jesse Stone must navigate his own troubled past to protect the town and the people he cares about.
