Books like Snowblind by Ragnar Jónasson

Ari Thór Arason, a rookie policeman on his first posting in the secluded fishing village of Siglufjörður, Iceland, is pulled into a tangled mystery when a half‑naked woman is discovered bleeding in the snow and an elderly writer is found dead in the local theater. Surrounded by a community where doors are rarely locked and secrets abound, Ari must navigate betrayal and violence while confronting his own unresolved past. The novel explores the claustrophobic tension of a community where trust is scarce, and the past continually haunts the present. As Ari delves deeper into his own darkness, the story raises the stakes with a killer on the loose, making the investigation both personal and perilous. "Snowblind" is a tense, atmospheric crime tale that blends noir elements with the stark beauty of northern Iceland, establishing Ragnar Jónasson as a powerful new voice in crime fiction.
