Catriona Martin has long found life on a remote Shetland island simple, but her world turns turbulent when her brother Magnus consents to let his oil company, represented by Brett Simon, develop a new terminal on their property and convert their home into a hotel. The agreement also brings Brett’s domineering presence onto the island, with demands that grow increasingly unreasonable and jeopardize Catriona’s peace of mind. As the project takes hold, the sisters’ relationship is strained and Catriona questions whether she can handle the stress and Brett’s relentless expectations while protecting her family’s future. With family loyalty, industrial ambition, and the demands of an outsider vying for control, this contemporary romance explores how Catriona must decide whether to support her brother’s dream or to stand up for her own well‑being and the island’s quiet way of life.
