Books like Strangers' forest by Pamela Hill

Andrew Farquharson, a young Scot traveling abroad, receives a unique seed from a nearly extinct Red Indian tribe. He discovers that the ideal location for a forest of giant trees is on a bankrupt Scottish estate whose lands will inherit a young girl, Primrose Tebb. Though a child, Andrew marries Primrose and sets out to cultivate the forest. The narrative follows Primrose – a pretty and headstrong girl – as she matures at her own pace, despite Andrew's attempts to educate her at a girls' school in Edinburgh. Their marriage is marked by a clash of wills against the backdrop of the ever-growing trees and the old house of Pless, home to Primrose's family. Supporting characters include her beautiful cousin Penuel and the sinister half-Indian Saginaw, who arrives with Andrew from his travels in Canada. As the trees grow, the story’s outcomes become as unpredictable as their twisted branches.
