Books like Savage Surrender by Natasha Peters

At seventeen, Elise Antoinette Mariani Lesconflair is robbed of her innocence and thrust into a world that tests her desires and resilience. Her journey takes her from the lavish halls of a French château to the grim decks of a West Indies slave ship, and ultimately to the tumultuous life of Jean Lafitte’s mistress in the Caribbean. During her travels, she encounters Garth McClelland, a thirty‑year‑old man whose worldly power and intense longing for Elise drive a storm of passion. Against the backdrop of the War of 1812, their romance crescendos into a fierce union, balancing intrigue, peril, and an unquenchable love. Set in the early nineteenth century, the novel blends historical romance and bodice‑ripper elements, depicting the arrival of colonial forces, maritime adventures, and the turbulence of war. The story explores themes of love, betrayal, and survival as Elise and Garth confront treachery, danger, and each other’s fierce hearts.
