A collection of 26 playful animal‑themed knitwear patterns for babies and children up to six, featuring garments, accessories, and detailed charts for various sizes.

"Since 1902, when Theodore Roosevelt refused to shoot a bear cub, teddy bears have achieved phenomenal popularity. They have been called the world's most popular soft toy, and bears of every shape have appeared in an amazing range of literary, cinematic, ceramic and other forms. Well-known knitwear designer Melinda Coss has created nineteen irresistible patterns for a wide variety of hand-knit items incorporating the bear motif. Designs include sweaters and dresses for adults, children's clothes, a baby's sleeping-bag and booties, leg-warmers and mittens. Two of the garments feature celebrated fictional characters Rupert Bear and Paddington Bear, while others are adorned with their humbler cousins. You will also find instructions for knitting bears and making bear toys. Each project is illustrated in full color and, where appropriate, features a full-color chart of the bear to be incorporated into the design. To supplement the clear knitting instructions, an introductory section explains some of the techniques that are needed to complete the patterns. Filled with patterns and ideas, *Wooly Bear Knits* will delight bear lovers of all ages."
