Books like Twelve angry librarians by Miranda James

When the Southern Academic Libraries Association convenes in Athena, Mississippi, interim library director Charlie Harris finds himself delivering the welcoming address at Athena College, with the keynote speaker from his past, Gavin Fong. The tension culminates in Fong’s untimely death, casting suspicion on Harris after a heated argument. With detectives on the way, Harris and his Maine Coon, Diesel, must sift through library clues, staff alibis, and the murky future of academic librarianship to identify the true murderer before the next book turns from fiction to reality. Charlie’s struggle is amplified by the looming debate over whether degreed librarians will become obsolete, a claim voiced by the dead keynote. Ethically and practically challenged, Harris must balance investigations with his duties, testing his resolve and friendships in a tight-knit community of librarians, librarianship, and crime.
