Books like Hero by Michael Grant

Four years after the dome over Perdido Beach fell, the alien virus that formed it continues to spread. In its wake, pieces of virus‑infested rock give rise to a new generation of humans with mutant abilities. The Rockborn Gang—members Dekka, Shade, Cruz, Malik, Armo, and Francis—has recently defeated Dillon Poe and now seeks answers: Who are the Dark Watchers, and what is the fourth dimension that only Francis can access? While the gang attempts to navigate these questions, an even greater threat surfaces. As the infected rock rushes toward New York, the villain Bob Markovic, a newly-born Rockborn with the power to unleash a deadly disease, emerges. His arrogance and moral indifference pose a dire danger to all of humanity. The gang must make difficult decisions on morally gray ground to prevent catastrophe. Michael Grant closes the Monster trilogy, the successor to the Gone series, in a finale that brings returning allies and new enemies together for a battle that challenges the very definition of heroism.
