Books like Kill And Tell by Linda Howard

Still grieving her mother’s death, Karen Whitlaw’s world is turned upside down when a package delivers a mysterious notebook from her long‑absent father—an Army sniper who returned from the Vietnam War over twenty years ago. Scrawled in its worn pages are the names of men he killed, and the book’s presence soon attracts unwanted attention. When her father is found murdered on the gritty streets of New Orleans, homicide detective Marc Chastain dismisses the case as street violence. But after Karen’s home is burglarized and a series of accidents threaten her safety, she realizes someone is hunting her to silence the hidden truth. Karen entrusts the notebook to Chastain, and together they follow a trail that leads from the streets of New Orleans to a broader, dangerous conspiracy. Their investigation forces them to confront a ruthless killer who will stop at nothing to keep the notebook’s secrets buried forever.
