Books like Shattered trident by Larry Bond

Captain Jerry Mitchell commands the USS North Dakota as he tracks a Chinese nuclear attack submarine in the western Pacific. He is stunned when the enemy torpedoes a Vietnamese merchant ship, sparking a surprise conflict that throws the United States and the world into a rapid battle for dominance. In response, the Littoral Alliance—an emergent coalition of regional powers—launches a covert submarine offensive designed to cripple China’s economy before it can execute its own domination plans. Mitchell’s squadron is tasked with intercepting attacks on both sides in a desperate bid to buy the U.S. president time to negotiate a diplomatic resolution, while both China and the Alliance remain determined to win at any cost. As hostilities intensify, the fragile balance teeters toward catastrophe, and the submarines of Mitchell’s command must execute their critical mission before the world faces an economic disaster—or worse, a nuclear exchange.
