Awakening in the woods, naked and surrounded by wolf tracks and a circle of suspicious cops, he finds himself hauled out by Alpha-elect Elena Michaels and her formidable enforcer Clay. Disappointed that Morgan could reveal the pack, Elena expects nothing more than a quick rescue and some solitude with Clay. Instead, the group encounters a new, darker menace stalking both the streets and forests of Westwood, New York. Trapped by a snowstorm and sabotage, Elena, Clay and Morgan must uncover the mysterious threat before it turns its attention to them. The novel blends supernatural action with the dynamics of pack politics, showcasing the struggle between duty and personal desire as the characters confront an enemy that challenges their world.
