Books like Eye of the storm by Kate Messner

Jaden’s summer visit with her meteorologist father, who has just returned from four years in Russia conducting weather experiments not permitted in the United States, fills her with apprehension and fear as she discovers that living at her father’s planned community, Placid Meadows, is anything but placid. The story follows Jaden’s experience as she learns to navigate the complex dynamics between her father and the community, while working to understand the meteorological research her father has carried out. Along the way, she confronts both the environmental mysteries surrounding the stormy weather and the emotional challenges brought about by her relationship with her father. Through exploration, mystery, and detective work, the novel examines themes of family, science, and the unpredictable power of nature.
