Books like Hot & bothered by Kate Hoffmann

Trey Marbury receives an anonymous erotic note and suspects the voice behind it is his former high school confidante, Libby Parrish. As teenagers they once slipped away from the South Carolina heat for a skinny‑dipping adventure that bound them with an undeniable spark. Twelve years later, Trey's return forces both to confront their lingering feelings, unmet desires, and the lingering question of whether love can outlast time. Libby, who has spent the last decade trying to move on, finds herself again drawn to Trey’s bold invitation. Their passionate encounters ignite a fragile romance, but both worry whether their renewed connection will respect or repeat past patterns. A surprising letter from hostilities arriving in Libby's mailbox casts new doubts, and the truth behind the anonymous messages threatens to disrupt what could be a new beginning. The story follows their journey as they navigate desire, memory, and the possibility that the one who wrote the letters was not who they expected.
