Until I Find You follows actor Jack Burns as he travels from North Sea ports to North America, chasing the elusive memory of his absent father, William Burns. Jack’s upbringing—taught by a tattoo‑artist mother and shaped by relationships with older women—leads him into Hollywood, where he and novelist Emma Oastler find success. The novel weaves comedy and melancholy, exploring themes of obsession, truth, and the enduring marks we carry. Key motifs include the allure of tattoo culture, the emotional weight of family secrets, and the complex dance between father and son. As Jack learns to question his mother's narrative about his father, he embarks on a second European journey, seeking closure and understanding. The story balances vivid cinematic detail with intimate character moments, creating a tapestry of hopes, deceptions, and ultimately, emotional resolution.
