Stephanie Plum, a New Jersey bounty hunter known for her street smarts and loyalty to family, faces her toughest case yet when powerful mobster Salvatore "Uncle Sunny" Sunucchi escapes to Trenton. Charged with murder for double fatalities, Uncle Sunny is protected by a crew of poker partners, a bimbo girlfriend, and two loyal henchmen—Shorty and Moe. Even Trenton’s top cop, Joe Morelli, is entangled, as Uncle Sunny happens to be his godfather, putting Morelli’s impartiality into question. Meanwhile, Stephanie’s grandmother Bella, a formidable old‑world woman, undermines her efforts at every turn. A security specialist named Ranger enlists Stephanie’s help to solve the mysterious death of a client’s mother—a woman who had played bingo with Stephanie’s grandmother, Mazur. Now, working alongside Ranger and Grandma Mazur at a senior center, Stephanie confronts a killer on the loose. With car bullet holes, henchmen on the tail, and a giraffe named Kevin wreaking havoc on Trenton’s streets, Stephanie must raise the stakes to achieve the ultimate takedown. "Takedown Twenty" continues the humor‑laden, fast‑paced adventures of the beloved Stephanie Plum series, blending crime, family dynamics, and quirky Georgetown‑style cityscape in a high‑energy mystery.
