Books like Beryl by Jane Simmons

Beryl, a pig with a bold personality and a distinct curly tail, leaves the farm where she was raised by harsh and impatient pigs in pursuit of a family that will accept her just as she is. Her adventure takes her far from her familiar surroundings, where she encounters a variety of unexpected friends. Through these relationships, Beryl confronts and reexamines her preconceptions about wild pigs and the world beyond her farm. In doing so, she discovers at a cost of emotional pain that something might pulse closer to her heart than she ever imagined – a place that could potentially become her true home. The story follows Beryl’s brave journey as she seeks belonging and challenges the prejudices she has held, ultimately proving that with courage and curiosity, a place of love and acceptance can be found in the most unlikely places.
