In this humorous chapter‑book for children, Edna lives next door to Cinderella and shares a wicked stepmother and demanding tasks. While Cinderella sits among the cinders reflecting on her troubles, Edna turns her hard labor into practical skills—crafting tuna casserole in myriad ways, removing spots from rugs to ladybugs, and gathering jokes to keep her spirits up. When a king announces a grand ball, the story follows Edna and Cinderella’s contrasting preparations and the possibility of a new beginning. The tale celebrates self‑reliance, confidence, and the moral lessons of perseverance wrapped in a lighthearted, fairy‑tale atmosphere.
