Books like In Fury Born by David Weber

Set roughly a millennium ahead, humanity has colonised 1,800 planets, each with about a billion people, uniting after fratricidal wars to confront the hostile Rishathan. Alicia DeVries, beginning her career at fourteen, serves in the Marines before being selected for the elite Cadre, the Emperor’s personal liege corps. Her career is cut short when she resigns in bitterness over a perceived leniency toward a fellow officer who betrayed her battalion into a Rishathan trap. She retreats to a frontier homestead with family, but five years later a pirate raid kills most of the 30,000 inhabitants—including all her relatives. Barely surviving, Alicia embarks on a vendetta, aided by one of the three Furies from Greek myth and a state‑of‑the‑art artificial‑intelligence‑run space warship. Together they pursue her desire for vengeance, which she ultimately overcomes with the help of her allies. The novel is presented as a fast‑moving science‑fiction adventure focused on loyalty, resilience, and tactical warfare.
