Books like Rock On by Dan Kennedy

In "Rock On," Dan Kennedy tells the true story of his entry into one of the world’s most famous record labels. After receiving a six‑figure marketing position, he discovers the music industry is far more chaotic and comedic than he imagined. The book follows Kennedy through surreal projects—from directing a gangster rap video to launching a campaign for Phil Collins' 25th anniversary—while intersecting with real‑life figures such as Iggy Pop and other iconic musicians. Kennedy’s humor and insider observations highlight the absurdities of office life, the creative pressures of the rock music business, and the surprises that come with working behind the scenes of the industry. "Rock On" is a blend of memoir and satire that offers a candid look at recording‐label politics, songwriting, and the behind‑the‑scenes moments that shape popular music history.
