Books like By way of deception by Claire Hoy

Victor Ostrovsky was invited by Mossad to join its Kidon assassination unit, which he declined. He later accepted a grueling three‑year training program to become a case officer, or katsa, for Israel’s legendary spy agency. The book recounts Ostrovsky’s firsthand experiences, offering a rare glimpse into Mossad tactics, missions and internal politics. It covers high‑profile operations such as surveillance of Yasser Arafat’s driver and bodyguard, alleged interference in U.S. hostages’ safety, and alleged involvement in the Iran‑Contra scandal. Ostrovsky also alleges that the agency aided Jewish communities outside Israel with armed self‑defense training and was involved in drug trafficking to fund its operations. The memoir presents a view of a complex organization whose actions, according to the author, at times diverge from the official interests of the State of Israel.
