When Claire Cooper was eight, her mother vanished during Hop‑tu‑na, the Isle of Man’s Halloween festival. Years later, Claire is still haunted by the disappearance. A new friendship with a group of teens who perform dares at each Halloween brings fresh excitement—and danger. One scare turns lethal, and a friend’s death six years later sparks an investigation. Now a police officer, Claire doubts the apparent accident when a single footprint is found beside the body. Another death and another symbolic print on the following Halloween reinforce the possibility of vengeance. Determined to stop a killer and unlock her buried secrets, she must face her deepest fears before another friend becomes the next target. Set against the spooky backdrop of the Isle of Man, “Dark Tides” follows a detective’s race against time to solve a sinister plot rooted in childhood pranks and a long‑conserved mother‑mysterious case.
