Books like No place I'd rather be by Cathy Lamb

Olivia Martindale, two years after leaving Montana and her husband Jace, comes back temporarily to shield her almost‑adopted daughters from their biological mother. While staying, she finds a stained, tear‑stained handwritten cookbook in the attic. Its recipes, written in different hands and languages, sit among mementos—a feather, a pressed rose, a charm, and old photographs. Olivia decides to cook each dish, hoping the recipes will reveal her grandmother’s hidden history. She documents her attempts, and her kitchen adventures unfold amidst chaotic visits from her doctor mother, blunt grandma, short‑tempered sister, and her two lovable daughters. The resulting drama is messy and real, yet unexpectedly gains a following among viewers, all while Olivia uncovers family secrets and reconnects to Montana and her husband Jace.
