After the tragic death of her fiancé, U.S. Ambassador Natalie Black returns to Washington facing rumours that she is responsible and a series of violent threats. Her life is repeatedly endangered by attackers on roads and in public. Only FBI Special Agent Davis Sullivan believes her. Meanwhile, a stalker targets her close associate, Sherlock, who is shadowed by a dangerous psychopath, Blessed Backman, who escaped from an Atlanta mental hospital. Backman seeks vengeance against the agents who destroyed his cult. As threats multiply and time wanes, Black, Sullivan, and Sherlock must uncover who is orchestrating the attacks and stop the man who has made it his mission to kill. The novel blends suspense, thriller elements, and political intrigue as the protagonists navigate murder plots, federal investigations, and personal betrayals.
