Books like Stranger Things by Caitlin Schneiderhan

Two years before the events of Season 4 of *Stranger Things*, Eddie Munson lives on the margins of Hawkins, Indiana, as the irascible head of the school’s Hellfire Club and the creative force behind the punk‑rock band Corroded Coffin. With senior year looming, he must balance Dungeons & Dragons sessions, late‑night gigs, and the everyday grind of a high school outcast. Eddie’s chance at a brighter future arrives when Paige, a former Hawkins resident now thriving as a record‑producer assistant in Los Angeles, agrees to help him if he submits a demo tape. The obstacle? The costs of recording equipment and studio time — money Eddie doesn’t possess. Faced with this barrier, he turns to his father, Al Munson, whose latest scheme offers a risky but potential payday. If the endeavor succeeds, Eddie could finally escape the shadowy perimeter of his hometown. Set against the 1980s backdrop of a seemingly idyllic Midwest town, this narrative explores Eddie’s determination to carve out identity, ambition, and hope amid the challenge of financial constraints and relentless self‑doubt.
