Lord John Aversin, famed Dragonsbane, and his mageborn wife, Jenny Waynest, have battled and defeated two dragons, earning John the title of Dragonsbane. Yet more terrifying enemies lurk than the dragons themselves. Demonspawn from a dark dimension have mastered the ability to siphon magic and souls from mages and dragons, and they have turned their victims into empty vessels. After stealing John and Jenny’s twelve‑year‑old mageborn son, Ian, the couple is left desperate. In their quest, John turns to Morkeleb the Black, the eldest and strongest dragon, while the demons rally a vast army threatened to plunge the Realm into civil war. Morkeleb is forced to sacrifice what he values most, Jenny is compelled to re‑evaluate her beliefs, and John must embark on a perilous quest to find what remains most potent in battling such powerful demonic adversaries—powerful demons that threaten the very fabric of the realm.
