Books like Gosnell by Ann McElhinney

In 2013 Dr. Kermit Gosnell was convicted of murdering four people, three of them infants, at his abortion clinic known as the "House of Horrors." He is currently serving three life sentences without the possibility of parole. The investigation that led to his conviction began as a routine drugs probe but soon uncovered a broader pattern of alleged killings. The case highlighted how political concerns over abortion and allegations of media bias shaped the pursuit of justice. Gosnell’s story has been the subject of a major film, and many observers note that a combination of hesitant political response and selective media coverage allowed the crimes to continue for decades. The investigation ultimately revealed a grim portrait of one of America’s most notorious serial killers within the context of reproductive health services.
