Books like Your Magic or Mine? by Ann Macela

In a world where magic still rules, theoretical mathematician Marcus Forscher believes that spell‑casting can be grounded in modern science, developing a formula that could bring the art into the 21st century. Botanist Gloriana Morgan, a staunch defender of the old ways, argues that spell‑casting is an individual art that can’t be reduced to equations. Their opposing views ignite a fierce battle within the magic community. Complicating matters is the soul‑mate phenomenon – an ancient compulsion that draws practitioners together through persuasive powers, making Marcus and Gloriana undeniable soul mates despite their differences. As their factions turn to violence, the fate of magic itself hangs in the balance: will it work for them or against them, and what cost will the world pay for the war between science and tradition?
