A DARING MASQUERADE... Mariotta Abingdon was growing restless under the restricted life she led in Bath. Miss Abingdon's dress, like her limited social circle, was dictated by her mother, who was a very strict lady. Imagine Mariottas delight when she discovers that she has a twin sister from whom she was separated at an early age when her parents divorced. Diana's life is as different from Mariottas dull existence as night is from day. Living with their father, Black Walter, the rake of half a continent, Diana's stylish existence and her contact with men of rank seem like heaven to Mariotta. What's more Diana is tired of trying to keep her extravagant father in check and is eager to change her rackety life for the peace and stability of Bath. So the girls secretly change places, confounding parents, friends, and would-be lovers in a merry tale of love.
