Books like Sometimes I lie by Alice Feeney

Amber wakes in a hospital, paralyzed and speechless, trapped in the sterile silence of a coma while the world outside spins unchanged. Though her ears hear the doctors and visitors, her own voice is gone, and she cannot remember how the accident happened. The narrative shifts between her present paralysis, the week before the crash, and a series of childhood diaries written twenty years earlier. Through these shifting scenes, the story builds a psychological thriller around trust, memory, and the possibility that her husband's actions may be tied to her current plight. As the past and present collide, the reader is drawn into a tense exploration of identity and the thin line between reality and perception. In the end, the oscillation of time and sentiment leaves readers shocked, as Amber must confront who she was, who she has become, and whether her husband is the key to her recovery or her undoing.
