Thomas à Kempis was born in 1380 in Kempen, in the Holy Roman Empire (modern-day Germany). He was a Dutch Catholic monk and a member of the Windesheim Congregation ofCANON Regulars. Renowned for his spiritual writings and devout life, he dedicated his work to fostering deeper faith and contemplation.
