Joseph Ritson (1752–1803) was an English antiquary and scholar born in Stockton-on-Tees. Renowned for his meticulous research and contributions to the study of ancient history and folklore, Ritson dedicated much of his life to exploring the customs, language, and traditions of early Britain and its Celtic peoples.
