James Bruce (1730-1794) was a Scottish traveler and diplomat born in Kinnaird, Scotland. Renowned for his extensive explorations of North Africa, he dedicated much of his life to uncovering the mysteries of the Nile River's origins. Bruce’s journeys and detailed accounts significantly contributed to European geographic knowledge of the region during the 18th century.
